“UKIYO”- The BBA Fest 2025

The essence of Ukiyo—living in the moment and appreciating the transience of life—was perfectly captured in this year’s college fest. Spread across two action-packed days, it wasn’t just an event; it was a journey of fun, connection, and celebration. Every moment was a reminder that life is fleeting, and it’s the bonds we create and the experiences we share that truly matter.

Day 1: A Carnival of Colours and Creativity

Day 1 of the fest was a dazzling display of energy and creativity, with an array of stalls that catered to every sense. The campus transformed into a vibrant marketplace, with stalls that showcased everything from mouth-watering cuisines to quirky handmade arts and even a photobooth that captured memories in a flash. Each stall was thoughtfully decorated—bright banners fluttered in the breeze, twinkling fairy lights added a magical touch, and unique crafts filled the air with creativity.

The food stalls were a culinary paradise, offering a variety of international and local flavours. Whether it was the crispy, savoury tacos, the sweet, indulgent crepes, or the tangy chaat, there was something for every taste bud. The air was filled with the delicious aroma of freshly made treats, and the sound of people laughing and chatting added to the lively atmosphere. It was the perfect way to kick off the fest—filled with discovery and excitement at every corner.

Day 2: A Night of Talent, Energy, and Unforgettable Beats

As the sun set on Day 2, the energy shifted into full throttle. The evening began with the Cultural Night, a celebration of talent that brought together students. The stage was alive with an explosion of colour and rhythm, as performers dressed in vibrant costumes gave their all. Classical Indian dances, contemporary choreography, and fusion acts filled the auditorium, each performance better than the last. The audience cheered, clapped, and celebrated each act, creating an electric atmosphere of pride and community.

The night then took a more energetic turn as the lights dimmed, the beats dropped, and the crowd moved to the rhythm of the DJ’s electrifying set. The DJ Night was the highlight of the fest, where the stress of everyday life melted away, and everyone lost themselves in the music. The dance floor was alive with movement, laughter, and joy, as friends and strangers alike danced under the sparkling lights, making memories that would last a lifetime. It was the perfect end to a festival that was equal parts celebration and pure, unadulterated fun.

The hours spent in organizing, designing, and executing the event allowed students to showcase their strengths, work through challenges, and take pride in the collective effort.

A Lesson in Business and Collaboration

As a BBA student, organizing and participating in the fest was a hands-on crash course in real-world business skills. From project management and time management to budgeting and resource allocation, the fest provided an invaluable opportunity to apply what we’ve learned in the classroom. Working with diverse teams—students, faculty, and vendors—sharpened our communication and leadership skills. We quickly learned how to adapt, collaborate, and solve problems on the fly, as unexpected challenges popped up.

In short, it was an enriching experience that helped us build not only our professional skills but also our ability to work as a team and think critically under pressure.

The name Ukiyo couldn't have been more fitting. The festival had the perfect mix of energy, creativity, and camaraderie—just like the fleeting moments it celebrates. It was a space where we could pause, live in the present, and embrace the joy that comes with creating, performing, and sharing with one another. This year’s fest, with its incredible stalls, mind-blowing performances, and unforgettable DJ night, was a testament to the spirit of living in the now.
